Madelynn at 8 months old

And she's off (almost)

Trying to get to the remote

Peek a Boo!

Madelynn is 8 months old now. All I can think is where has the time gone. Maddy can't quite crawl yet but she tries everyday. She's so close but when I try to put her on all fours she can't quite seem to keep her legs in, they spread out to the side. Its only a matter of time now.

She scoots everywhere on her bottom and has gotten quite fast. She loves to go over to a tall object like the coffee tables and pull herself to her knees. She hasn't gotten to her feet yet but that will happen soon too.

I can tell she's going to keep me busy in the coming months:)

Wisconsin Dells

After the big slide - going down the lazy river

Maddy and Grandma

Hayden coming out of the kid friendly slides

Last weekend (Sat. - Tues.) we went to WI Dells with Andy's family. We had a great time and Hayden had a blast at the waterpark. Before we went to the Dells, Hayden kept talking about hoping he could go on the big slides. I explained to him that he may need to go with a grown up. Honestly, we didn't think he would want to go down the big slides at all once he saw them.

We were wrong. Hayden loved the big slide that he went down with his Daddy on an innertube. It was a big tunnel that was 4 stories high and he came out laughing the very first time. We are so glad he had a blast.

Madelynn went in the water but it was a little too cold for her liking. So she had fun just hanging out. She was a trooper the whole weekend

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for taking us. What a fun way to spend Spring break.

My Little Cowboy

Andy came back from Austin Texas with a cowboy hat for Hayden. Hayden had wanted one and talked about it the whole week his daddy was gone. Hayden looks pretty darn cute in his cowboy hat.

Madelynn Scooting

Madelynn has been scooting for awhile now. She started out kind of bouncing on her bottom. Now she has taken to moving her legs back and forth , almost attempting to crawl. She gets one leg behind her but hasn't figured out how to move the other one behind. But somehow she manages to move like this. So here are two different video's. The first captured Maddy bouncing on her bottom while playing with Hayden. The second shows her moving to a toy and her beloved Millie.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

It may not be Christmas anymore but we stil sing Christmas songs in our house. Specifically Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Hayden loves to sing these songs, so between the two one is sung each night when he goes to bed. Hayden decided to sing Rudolph to Maddy last week after dinner and I was lucky enough to capture it. I just love how excited Maddy gets when Hayden's singing to her.

Maddy's Jumperoo in action

Madelynn still loves her Jumperoo. She has taken to rocking it side to side now. We thought she did this because we needed to raise the height but after we raised the height she continued to rock it. I guess that is just what she likes to do. Here is a short video of Maddy in her Jumperoo.

Spring is Here!

Maddy's first time on a swing

Hayden playing

Maddy and Hayden on the way home

Yesterday was just beautiful here, it was in the 60's. So after preschool and lunch, Hayden, Maddy and I headed to the park. I had forgotten that late last fall a new playground for the kids was put in. Hayden had no idea so when we got there he was excited. It was perfect timing since there were three other boys his age there as well. He made a new friend and had a blast.

Hayden took his trike to the park, and well he's getting a little big for it as you can see. But he didn't want to take his bike and neither did I. It is pretty hilly on the way to the park and I didn't want him to fall.

Maddy got to wear her new adorable coat from Great Aunt Linda and Uncle Ed. And you can't see it in the pictures but it has these cute flowers on it that match the ones on the hat from her Cousin Jeannie. What a stylish little girl she is:)

It was a wonderful day so glad we made it to the park.

My New Best Friend

Hayden and Maddy talking

Maddy playing in the pack n play

The Pack n Play has become my new best friend this past week. Andy has been in Austin TX since last Thursday the 12th and will return tomorrow the 18th. So I have been a single parent for the past few days, we have all missed Andy (daddy). Madelynn and Hayden both had colds when he left and I think Maddy's is finally leaving.

Needless to say I have had my hands full. Hayden handles being sick like a trooper. Madelynn has been fine during the day but the nights have been a different story. She has been sleeping in her infant car seat in my room because her nose has been so congested. She always starts in her crib at 8pm but usually by 10pm she's with me. Except last night she made it to 2am. I think tonight looks promising:)

But the pack n play has been so nice, I have it in the kitchen so Maddy can be safe and playing while I make dinner or clean up etc. I don't have to worry about her scooting to the coffee tables or grabbing Millie's dog toys, which she just finds fasinating to hold. Its funny how I forgot how wonderful a pack n play can be:)

We will be happy when Daddy returns but we have been doing just fine on our own.

Siblings

Just hanging out.

Hayden likes to hold Maddy

Madelynn lights up whenever she sees Hayden. She just loves to play with him and he has fun playing with her. He tells me weekly he can't wait till they can play together with his toys. I am so glad they have each other.

Too Stinkin Cute

Madelynn got this dress from my parents last fall, we thought she would fit into it in May or June. Well turns out she's growing just like her big brother did at this age...fast. Too fast for my liking. This past week we went to the library for story time. And Madelynn put on her dress and got dolled up for the occasion. One of my mom friends said she was a "Chunk of cuteness" in this dress. I know she is going to wear it again soon:)

A Hayden Daddy bonding

Last weekend Hayden and Andy went to Home depot for the monthly kids project. Hayden got to build a ramp to race cars down. He had a blast with his daddy and was so proud of what he had built. Hayden can't wait for next month when he gets to build a bird house.

All About Miss Madelynn - 7 months

Maddy with her favorite Blankie

One adorable vest:)

I love Pajama time!

WOW! Can I hug it?

Madelynn turned 7 months March 1st, her birthday is the 29th of every month but it wasn't a leap year:) She is learning so much every day and becoming more and more mobile. She has been able to scoot on her back for quite awhile, I call her my little inch worm since she inches across a floor. But just recently she has figured out how to scoot on her bottom. It happened one night I turned my head for a second and she scooted to the coffee table. Andy says she looks like Tigger, since she kind of bounces. I have a small video of her doing her scoot and will upload it soon.
She also loves to talk and squeel. Hayden has told me at times "she's too loud." I find this amazing he can say this since he can be quite loud at times. But we all love hearing her talk to us, she has lots to say.
Maddy and Millie our dog like to play together as well. Millie seems to think Maddy should be able to play with her now, so she rolls her toys to Maddy. Maddy too will grab a toy that is in Millie's mouth. All while I sit there supervising. Millie is wonderful with Madelynn, couldn't ask for a sweeter dog.

Like Daddy like son

This picture was taken a couple weekends ago. Everyone in the house was napping one Saturday afternoon except me. Andy laid on the couch for a break and Hayden tucked himself in behind him. Before I knew it they were both sound asleep. Like father like son came to mind at that moment.

Hayden's Magic Show

Here is a small video of Hayden performing a Magic show. He loves his magic tricks that he got for Christmas from his Great Aunt Jan, Uncle Dave, Jen and Matt.
